This particular plateau can be reached either from Kathikas or the Akamas, by coming up the track from the Agia Matrona Church, above White River Beach. It is part of a spectacular route that goes through some stunning scenery.

This is a lovely, secluded spot, just off the track that runs from Kathikas down to The Akamas. If you are coming from that direction, to get to this post you need to drive past all the erosion on your right, then past the farm on your left and up the hill. This spot will be just to your left at the top.

This is another shot of one of our favourite parts of Cyprus. We've come a bit further west here though, so we can see more of the Valley towards Lara Bay. In that direction also lies Avakas Gorge, but you can't really see it from here.

Different Types of Erosion

This is the track from Kallepia to the Akamas, just down from the Lisengang Rings. In this picture you can see different types of erosion. In the side of the cliff, you can see massive chunks of hill which are gradually working themselves free of the main land mass. And further down, you can see the eroded slopes consisting of soil and tiny pebbles.
