Mention "gorge" in Cyprus, and people will automatically think of Avakas Gorge. But there are many gorges dotted around the countryside. I am fascinated by them, ever since I saw a film of the small one near Akoursos.
This particular gorge is in the Akamas, and right next to the Liesegang Rings. Unfortunately it is fairly typical of most of the gorges I have found. They are inaccessible, and full of dense vegetation. Worse still, the vegetation is bamboo, which is a mecca for snakes.
